Travel and Cycling

Being brought up in a middle class family in a small town, Pondicherry, I always used to wonder on how people keep on travelling. Travelling i would say is really a topic of its own people can keep talking on the same for ever.

I still remember, when i was little i used to love to ride a tri-cycle,but never got a chance till today to ride one :-(. My travel started since that day. Pondicherry being a small town, my dad used to go to his office in cycle. Some times my dad used to go out of station. During those times, he used to keep his big Raleigh cycle in the third floor for fear of theives stealing the same. How funny it was to move a bug machine weigh heavy to a third floor where no lifts are available.
once the cycle is inside, i used to manage to put the stand and hop on to the seat and do some few stand cycling, falling lot of times. Then time went on, soon it was the moment on how to do cycling. During summer holidays, all the little cousins used to hop to my home. This is the time when we learnt cycling with a rental cycle for Re1 for 2 hours. How Cheap!!! My uncle used to come sometimes and take us some 2 kms aways and make us drive cycle. It was always fun to learn cycle with my uncle. He always loved to get some icecreams or kulfi or something. So time went on and i graduated from 4th class and i got a cycle when i went to 6th class. In afternoon i used to go to cycle stand to ensure my cycle was safe. Not to mention of two additional "Navtal Locks" gifted by my grand mother to ensure cycle safety. This locks used to gain attraction from my friends and how funny it was for them and how awkward it was for me then :-)..... thats the cycling story . Once even i managed to pull out the air in the cycle of some guy in the school and when that chap turned up to check if his cycle was intact :-)...and he nicknamed me "Valve Tube". Though it was embarassing that time, today when i think back the olden days i laugh out loud. I imagine how it will be if some one calls me "Valve tube"....
